(6/10)
Directed by Kevin Greutert. Starring Tobin Bell, Costas Mandylor, Betsy Russell.
I am a huge fan of Costas Mandylor and all of the Saw movies but I would have to say there is a lot of
good and bad about this movie. Like all the other Saw movies there were games, blood, gore and a
surprise ending.
Now we all know if you are a Saw fan that John Kramer is dead (jigsaw) Amanda Young is dead
(accomplice to jigsaw), and Detective Mark Hoffman (another accomplice to jigsaw) took over and in six
was left in a chair by John's (Jill Tuck) wife with that contraption that permanently rips your jaw open.
Hoffman escapes the trap with cuts in his cheeks which he stitches himself and then the games begin.
In Saw 7 you have a main game which features Sean Patrick Flanery who plays Bobby Dagen ,a jigsaw
survivor, 3 other games and the return of Cary Elwes who plays Dr. Lawrence Gordon from the first Saw.
Mark Hoffman returns to run amuck and play his crazy games like he's done since becoming successor
to jigsaw. Watch out Jill, Mark Hoffman is alive and on the loose.
What I didn't like about this movie was that it seemed that by the third and fourth movie they were
running out of game ideas. Almost like saying it's enough already, Game Over. The people they choose
for these games were people who truly didn't appreciate their lives but after a while it kind of seemed
like 'let's just kill anyone who so much as associates with someone who has done something wrong'.
Also, I was not a fan of the 3D - in fact, it made me dizzy. The only thing that was 3D was the blood
splatter. It just didn't seem to work for the movie - when I bought the movie I skipped on the 3D.
What I did like about this movie was that they finally brought back Dr Gordon. I had been literally been
waiting years to find out what happened to this guy and finally in the last installment they bring him
back. We finally get to see how that reverse bear trap works and of course the big shocker at the end.
The kind that makes you sit in your chair with your mouth open and then say "really wow" If you are a
true 'Saw' fan and have been following the movies since one I would definitely recommend seeing this
movie, but if you never were a fan then these movies it will do nothing for you.Reply to YAP Casting
